This major exhibition has been organized in celebration of the 500th anniversary of Tintoretto’s birth. This is the first retrospective of the artist in North America and the exhibition will include many significant international loans traveling to the US for the first time. Nearly 50 paintings will be featured and more than a dozen works on paper spanning the artist’s entire career and ranging from regal portraits of Venetian aristocracy to religious and mythological narrative scenes. We will meet the docent at 1PM in the West Building Rotunda. We will have lunch before at the NGA cafeteria.
